William Hart / The Delfonics

With classics like “La La Means I Love You”; “Didn’t I Blow Your Mind This Time” and dozens of other hits lead singer William Hart redefined how love songs were sung and written. Series #2 of the Solid Gold Soul Collection features William Hart / The Delfonics documentary. With their very own style of fashion, dance moves, and especially singing, The Delfonics didn’t just give birth to great music they (along with producer Thom Bell) created a whole new sound that famously became known as “The Sound of Philadelphia”. William Hart’s soaring falsettos and timeless songs have spawned generations of imitators. On there way to becoming one of the greatest groups of all time The Delfonics showcased their unique swag before swag was even a thing and the ultra-talented William Hart cemented himself as a music legend

Ike & Tina Turner Revue

With hits like “Proud Mary”; “River Deep, Mountain High”; and “Nutbush City Limits”; they brought a fire to the stage that was unmatched. Series #3 of the Solid Gold Soul Collection features the Ike & Tina Turner Revue Documentary. Hands down the most exciting duo to ever grace a stage, the Ike and Tina Turner Revue didn’t just perform. They exploded. Tina’s high voltage dancing and gruff vocals were the perfect compliment to Ike’s musical genius and his super tight band’s thunderous musicianship. All the drama stirred up by the movie “What’s Love Got To Do With It” has overshadowed music’s first real power couple, the man who invented Rock’N’Roll in Ike Turner, and The Queen of Rock’N’Roll in Tina Turner. This documentary seeks to tell the true story. The documentary includes exclusive interviews with Ike Turner’s daughter Mia, his son Ike Jr., former Ikette Sweet Randi Love, and former road manager Ricky G.

Mike James Kirkland

You may know him as Mike James Kirkland, or Bo Kirkland, or Mike and the Censations, but chances are you definitely know his music. Barely out of his teens he had a major hit with the song “Victim of Circumstance” as the lead singer for the group Mike and the Censations. He created an album entitled “Hang On In There” in 1972 that has been compared to Marvin Gaye’s classic album “What”s Going On” for pioneering social content in R&B music. The title song written by Kirkland later won a Grammy Award when covered by John Legend on an album produced by Questlove of The Roots. Under the name Bo Kirkland the artist had a worldwide dance classic teaming with singer Ruth Davis on the track “You’re Gonna Get Next To Me”. Kirkland’s music can now be heard on numerous TV series and motion picture soundtracks. And now, Mike James Kirkland again breaks ground with the very first documentary series to be released from the Solid Gold Soul Collection.
